Abstract

У запропонованому розділі монографії коротко проаналізовано трнсформацію відносин між РФ та ЄС від початку президентства Владіміра Путіна до сучасного етапу. Показано, що період початкового зближення та поглиблення діалогу змінився на сприйняття Росії як стратегічного виклику і фундаментальної загрози безпеці Європи. Особливу увагу приділено сучасним формам гібридної активності Кремля, включно з диверсійними діями та кіберзагрозами. У тексті також оцінено потенціал військової загрози з боку Росії, фактори її посилення та обмеження, а також ризики для європейської безпеки у контексті недостатньої готовності європейських суспільств до оборони. Зроблено висновок про збереження високого рівня напруженості та ймовірність подальшої ескалації гібридного протистояння між Росією та ЄС / The proposed chapter of the monograph provides a brief analysis of the transformation of relations between the Russian Federation and the European Union from the beginning of Vladimir Putin’s presidency to the present stage. It demonstrates that the period of initial rapprochement and deepening dialogue has given way to the perception of Russia as a strategic challenge and a fundamental threat to European security. Particular attention is paid to contemporary forms of the Kremlin’s hybrid activity, including sabotage actions and cyber threats. The text also assesses the potential military threat posed by Russia, the factors contributing to its intensification and limitations, as well as the risks to European security in the context of the insufficient readiness of European societies for defense. It concludes that a high level of tension persists and that there is a likelihood of further escalation of hybrid confrontation between Russia and the EU
